The Context
The Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC), Dubai brings together Indian business owners and professionals across the UAE. Their annual magazine documents the year’s milestones, leadership messages, and member highlights.
Previous editions felt inconsistent and visually dry. The content was strong, but the presentation lacked cohesion. This edition needed to feel more professional, unified, and reflective of IBPC’s identity, all within a tight deadline.
The Challenge
The balance was clear: authoritative, but not sterile.
The magazine had to feel structured and business-focused, while carrying a stronger visual presence. It needed consistency across sections and clarity across dense content without overcomplicating the layout.
The Approach
I built a visual system before designing individual spreads.
A structured grid formed the foundation, allowing long-form articles, event recaps, and data-heavy sections to coexist cleanly. Typography was chosen to feel confident and modern, improving readability while reinforcing professionalism.
The focus wasn’t decoration. It was clarity, rhythm, and intention.
The System
The final design introduced:
• A flexible modular grid
• Clear typography hierarchy
• Consistent section openers
• Disciplined spacing and alignment
• Refined, controlled color usage
Every page was designed as part of a system and not in isolation.
The Outcome
The final edition felt cohesive, structured, and confidently professional.
Despite the compressed timeline, the system-driven approach ensured consistency and efficiency. More importantly, it gave IBPC a scalable framework for future editions.
